Ex- MOTLEY CRUE Vocalist JOHN CORABI Announces “MC94 – 20th Anniversary Tour”
John Corabi, former lead singer of MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE SCREAM and UNION, has revealed that he will be touring with a full band this fall, during which he will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the MÖTLEY CRÜE album that he appeared on by performing the LP in its entirety.
Corabi originally joined CRÜE in 1992 as the replacement for the group’s original singer, Vince Neil, who was fired due to personal differences. With Corabi on vocals, MÖTLEY CRÜE released one critically acclaimed full-length CD, which ended up being a commercial failure in the wake of grunge despite a Top-Ten placing on the album chart. When Neil returned to the fold in 1997, Corabi was left on his own and formed the band UNION with ex-KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.
Speaking to Jacky Bam Bam of Philadelphia’s 93.3 WMMR radio station, Corabi stated about his plans for the immediate future (hear audio below): “I’ve got a bunch of material for an electric record. But before I do the electric record, my manager was talking to me and he wants me to go out… I didn’t even realize it — I’m kind of clueless — but my manager was, like, ‘It’s the 20th anniversary of the MÖTLEY record. I think you should go out and do the MÖTLEY record, as much of the material from the MÖTLEY record as you can. You know, just kind of go out and do a 20th-anniversary ‘John Corabi performing the MÖTLEY record, ‘MC 94′, from top to bottom, and just go out and do your thing.’ So I may go do that this summer… That [would be me performing with] a full band electric. That would be me doing… At this point, it would be all the songs from the record. I don’t know if I can do… There’s one song on the record that I don’t know if I can do, but there’s other stuff that we recorded that was never released. There’s a song called ‘Hypnotized’, and ’10,000 Miles’, and ‘Living In The Know’, and ‘Kiss The Sky’, and ‘Let Us Pray’… So there’s a bunch of other songs that I can replace that one song with. But they’re talking about me just going out with my full band, electrically, and doing a bunch of the material from the ’94 record that I did with MÖTLEY.”
